The low-fuel light came on and you thought you'd make it, then the engine sputtered on a back road outside Richland, or on the long stretch of I-94 east toward Galesburg. Running out of gas isn't a breakdown, but it can leave you just as stuck. Call us, and we'll bring fuel to where you are so you can drive yourself to a station.
How fuel delivery works
- Call (269) 218-8728 and tell us where you are and what you drive.
- We bring enough fuel in an approved container to get you safely to the nearest open station.
- Our technician adds the fuel, helps you restart the engine and makes sure it's running smoothly before you go.
Fuel-injected engines sometimes take a few tries to restart after running completely dry while the fuel system re-primes. That's normal, and we'll stay until it's running.
Running out isn't always about the gauge
If you're certain the tank wasn't empty, something else may be going on. A failing fuel pump, a clogged filter or a faulty gauge can all feel exactly like running out of gas. If the car still won't run after we've added fuel, we can tow it to your mechanic.
Wrong fuel in the tank?
Put diesel in a gas car, or gas in a diesel? Don't start the engine, and if it's already running, turn it off as soon as it's safe. Running the wrong fuel through the system can do expensive damage. Call us for a tow to a shop that can drain the tank instead.
Staying safe on the shoulder
When an engine dies from lack of fuel, the car often coasts to a stop wherever it happens to be. If you can, steer onto the widest part of the shoulder before you lose momentum, and turn the hazards on right away. Don't walk along a highway to a gas station with a can. It's one of the most dangerous things a stranded driver can do.
